Vijay seeks CBI inquiry for Karur stampede in Chennai, cites election duties
- •TVK chief Vijay has requested the CBI to conduct future inquiries into the Karur stampede case in Chennai or elsewhere in Tamil Nadu.
- •Vijay cited his Assembly election-related engagements as the reason for his request, needing 10-15 days' time for appearance.
- •He had previously appeared for questioning in New Delhi on January 12 and 19.
- •The letter, dated March 14, was also sent to Justice Ajay Rastogi, overseeing the investigation into the stampede that killed 41.
- •Vijay was questioned for over seven hours on March 15 in New Delhi, accompanied by party leaders Aadhav Arjuna and C T R Nirmal Kumar.
