Wanted Sharpshooter Banarasi Yadav Killed in UP STF Encounter in Varanasi

• Banarasi Yadav, a contract killer with a Rs 1 lakh reward, was killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in Varanasi.
• The encounter occurred on the Bariyasanpur Ring Road in the Chaubepur area when STF attempted to arrest Yadav.
• Yadav was accused of murdering fertiliser trader Mahendra Gautam and had over two dozen criminal cases against him.
• Two pistols and a large quantity of cartridges were recovered from the encounter site.
• Another accused, Arvind Yadav alias Fauji or Kallu Yadav from Ghazipur, is absconding, and raids are underway.
