West Bengal: 3 Drown, 1 Missing in Hooghly River After Dol Celebrations

Three people drowned and one is missing after being swept away by the Hooghly river in Bhatpara, West Bengal.
•
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Balaram Sarkar Ghat in Ward 33 of Bhatpara Municipality.
•
Victims were bathing after playing with colours on Dol (Holi) when strong currents swept them away.
•
Deceased identified as Saikat Nandi (32), Sourav Nandi (27), and Balaram Sarkar, all from Madrul Government Colony.
•
The three deceased were family members; a fourth person went missing attempting a rescue, with search operations ongoing.
