Motilal Oswal Alternates Closes First Private Credit Fund at ₹1,700 Crore
•Motilal Oswal Alternates (MO Alts) announced the first close of its maiden private credit fund, India Credit Excellence Fund – I, at ₹1,700 crore.
•The fund, launched in January 2026, aims for a total corpus of ₹3,000 crore and expects a final close soon.
•It will focus on secured lending and customized credit solutions for profitable, growing mid-market Indian businesses facing limited traditional capital access.
•Rakshat Kapoor, Head and CIO of Private Credit at MO Alts, with 25 years of experience, will lead the fund.
•MO Alts has raised over ₹23,000 crore across 11 funds in 20 years, managing ₹28,000 crore in assets, and recently closed its largest PE fund at ₹8,500 crore.
