India's Vehicle Sales Soar in Jan: Two-Wheelers Up 21%, Cars 7%

• India recorded 2.723 million vehicle retail sales in January 2026, marking a 17.61% YoY increase.
• Two-wheeler sales surged by 20.82% YoY to 1.853 million units, with Hero MotoCorp leading the market.
• Passenger vehicle sales grew 7.22% YoY to 513,000 units, led by Maruti Suzuki India.
• Commercial vehicle sales increased 15.07% YoY, while three-wheelers saw an 18.80% YoY rise.
• Tractor sales remained strong, growing 22.89% YoY, with Mahindra & Mahindra dominating the segment.
