J-K to Acquire 200 E-Buses Under PM e-Drive Scheme; JKRTC Financial Health Improves

Jammu and Kashmir government plans to procure 200 additional e-buses under the PM e-Drive scheme.
•
JKRTC's financial status has improved, moving from losses to a surplus of Rs 70.04 crore in 2024-25.
•
Housing and Urban Development Department is also acquiring 100 new e-buses and has procured 200 e-buses for capital cities.
•
Extension of e-bus services to tourist destinations like Ramgarh constituency will be considered after fleet augmentation.
•
JKRTC is monetizing assets under PPP mode and an EV policy is under active consideration.
