Mercedes-Benz to Locally Produce Maybach GLS in India, Price Cut by ₹40 Lakh

• Mercedes-Benz India will begin local production of the ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach GLS, making India the second market globally after the US to do so.

• Mercedes-Benz's India business sees high-end luxury vehicles (above ₹1.5 crore) account for over 25% of total sales, with top-end vehicle portfolio growing 11% in 2025.
• The company will offer locally produced models for quicker deliveries and continue CBU imports for highly customised or secure specifications; luxury EV adoption is also gaining momentum, accounting for 20% of top-end sales.
