Budget 2026: Centre Allocates ₹3,100 Crore to Namami Gange Mission II

  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on Sunday, February 1, allocating ₹3,100 crore to the Namami Gange Mission II.
  • This allocation is part of the Centre's ongoing commitment to clean, protect, and restore the Ganga river system.
  • From January to December 2025, 25 key sewage treatment plants (530 MLD capacity) were commissioned under the mission, with a total capacity of 3,977 MLD created by December last year.
