HAL receives fifth GE F404-IN20 engine for Tejas Mk1A fleet
- •HAL received the fifth F404-IN20 engine from GE Aerospace for India's indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A programme.
- •This delivery is part of a larger agreement for 113 F404-IN20 engines and support for 97 LCA Mk1A aircraft, with deliveries scheduled from 2027 to 2032.
- •GE Aerospace and HAL are collaborating to maintain the engine production schedule, following the delivery of the fourth engine in October 2025.
- •Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently inaugurated a third production line for the LCA Tejas Mk1A at HAL's Nashik facility to expand manufacturing capacity.
- •GE Aerospace is investing $14 million to expand its Pune manufacturing facility, following a $30 million commitment last year, to upgrade processes for advanced engine components.
