•Indian visitors to Turkey dropped by 24.24% in 2025, with only 250,762 Indians visiting compared to 330,985 in 2024.
•The decline follows Operation Sindoor, where Turkish military equipment aided Pakistan, and Turkey's repeated support for Pakistan's stance on Kashmir.
•Despite a strong start in Q1 2025, Indian travel numbers dwindled significantly after the boycott calls.
•Indians constitute less than 1% of Turkey's total international visitors, minimizing the impact on Turkey's overall tourism.
•Aviation connections persist, with IndiGo and SpiceJet continuing to use Turkish-flagged aircraft, though future capacity may shrink.

Among the worst hit were tourism-linked passive strategies. Tata Nifty India Tourism Index Fund–Reg (G) declined 3.35% to Rs 8.55 from Rs 8.84, while Motilal Oswal Nifty India Tourism ETF fell 3.34% to Rs 74.95 from Rs 77.54. Kotak Nifty India Tourism Index Fund–Reg (G) slipped 3.33% to Rs 8.06 from Rs 8.34.
