Maharashtra government revoked provisional licenses of bike taxi aggregators like Rapido, Ola, and Uber.

Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik stated aggregators failed to meet mandatory requirements, including electric vehicles, within 30 days.

The move aims to prevent illegal bike taxis on roads, as many currently operating in Mumbai and MMR are deemed unlawful.

Complaints cited include accidents, women's security concerns, and the 'arrogance' of bike aggregators.

Since April 2024, RTOs have fined 130 bike taxis Rs 33 lakh; directions given to book owners instead of just riders.
