Chandigarh's New Excise Policy: 24/7 Liquor, Bars Open Till 3 AM, Prices Up

•Chandigarh Administration introduces new Excise Policy 2026-27 to boost hospitality and revenue.
•A-category hotels get 24-hour liquor service; B/C hotels can opt for it with Rs 30 lakh annual fee.
•Bars can operate 11 am-1 am; extended till 3 am for Rs 8 lakh annual fee (last order 2 am).
•97 liquor vends to be auctioned with a combined reserve price of Rs 454 crore.
•Liquor prices (country, IMFL, Indian beer) to increase by ~2% from April 1, making a Rs 500 bottle cost Rs 10-15 more.
