Election King K Padmarajan to Contest Against Vijay in Tamil Nadu Polls
•K Padmarajan, known as the "Election King," announced he will contest against actor-turned-politician Vijay in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
•Padmarajan, 67, will file his nomination as an independent candidate in whichever constituency Vijay makes his 2026 Assembly debut.
•He has contested 252 elections since 1988 without a win, earning him a place in the Limca Book of Records as the country’s “most unsuccessful candidate.”
•Padmarajan has contested against political stalwarts like M Karunanidhi, J Jayalalithaa, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Narendra Modi.
•Vijay's entry is seen as an attempt to disrupt Tamil Nadu's bipolar politics, with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) also contesting in Puducherry.
