Malang Gad Funicular Railway Draws 72,000 Visitors; Eases Pilgrimage to Haji Malang Dargah
•India's longest funicular railway at Malang Gad near Kalyan has attracted 72,000 passengers in three weeks since its January 18 inauguration.
•The 1.2-km cable system transforms a 2-hour climb of 2,600 steps into a 7-10 minute ride, transporting up to 1,200 passengers per hour.
•The railway significantly eases access to the Haji Malang Dargah and historic fort levels, especially during the Magh Poornima Yatra.
•Operating daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, round-trip tickets are ₹150 for adults and ₹75 for children, available offline.
•Other cable car spots in Maharashtra include Saptashrungi Gad (Nashik) and Jivdani Devi Temple (Palghar), offering similar convenient access to hilltop shrines.
