Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Airport Metro Link Gets Cabinet Nod; Nashik Ring Road Also Approved

  • Maharashtra government approves Metro Line-8 connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Navi Mumbai International Airport.
  • The 35-km Metro corridor will feature 20 stations (6 underground, 14 elevated) with a total project cost of Rs 22,862 crore.
  • The Cabinet also cleared the 66.15-km Nashik City Ring Road project by MSRDC, costing Rs 3,954 crore, in view of the upcoming Kumbh Mela.
  • A revised alignment for an 85.76-km four-lane cement concrete highway from Navegaon-Mor to Surjagad in Gadchiroli district was also approved for mineral transportation.
  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized timely project completion, mandating all land acquisition and clearances before work begins and imposing penalties for delays.
