Pune-Mumbai Expressway Reopens After 32-Hour Gas Leak Shutdown

• The Pune-Mumbai Expressway was shut down for 32 hours after a tanker carrying highly flammable propylene overturned near the Adoshi Tunnel on February 3.
• The incident occurred around 4:45 P.M. on Tuesday, February 3, on the Mumbai-bound carriageway in the Khandala ghat section of Raigad district.
• Thousands of commuters, including women and children, were stranded for hours, with many reporting lack of food and water.
• Traffic was restored after collective efforts by the Fire Brigade, NDRF, BPCL, Help Foundation, and chemical experts.
• The gas leak was stopped and the tanker shifted to a safe place around 1:30 A.M. on Thursday, allowing the expressway to reopen.
