Delhi Imposes 50% Office Attendance, WFH Amid Toxic Smog; Exempts Essential Services

  • Delhi's Labour Department mandates 50% office attendance and work-from-home for government and business establishments from December 18 due to severe pollution.
  • Hospitals, emergency services, public transport, and pollution control agencies are exempt from the attendance restrictions.
  • Registered construction workers will receive Rs 10,000 compensation for work loss during the 16-day GRAP Stage 3 construction ban.
  • Schools for Nursery to Class 5 will be online-only, while Classes 6-9 and 11 will operate in a hybrid mode.
  • Vehicles below BS-VI category registered outside Delhi are banned from entry during GRAP 3 and 4.

Why It Matters: Delhi tightens pollution curbs with WFH, construction worker aid, and school changes amid 'very poor' AQI.
