Afghanistan Bolsters Coaching Staff for T20 World Cup 2026 with New Appointments
- •The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed Toby Radford as the national team’s batting coach for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
- •Radford, a former first-class cricketer and ECB Level 4 certified coach, will replace Andrew Puttick and join the squad for the T20I series against the West Indies.
- •Robert Ahmun has also been hired as the new strength and conditioning trainer, joining before the final T20I series leading up to the World Cup.
- •Both Radford and Ahmun have been appointed for a one-year term, bringing extensive experience from roles with Dhaka Capitals and England and Wales Cricket Board.
- •Afghanistan is in Pool D for the 2026 World Cup, with their first match against New Zealand in Chennai on February 8, following their semi-final appearance in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
