• AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi announced an alliance with Humayun Kabir’s Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
• AJUP founder Humayun Kabir stated his party plans to contest 182 seats, with AIMIM contesting approximately 8 seats.
• Kabir has announced 18 candidates, including himself from Raninagar and Naoda, another Humayun Kabir from Bhagwangola, and Manisha Pathak Pandey from Murshidabad 64.
• Discussions for seat-sharing are ongoing between AIMIM West Bengal observer Advocate Adil Hussain and Humayun Kabir.
• The West Bengal Assembly has 294 seats, with polling on April 23 and 29, and vote counting on May 4.
