Setback for Eknath Shinde in Thane: UBT Candidate Wins His Home Ward

• Eknath Shinde's home ward 13A in Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) elections saw Sena UBT candidate Shahaji Khuspe defeat Shinde Sena's former mayor Ashok Vaiti.
• Shahaji Khuspe secured 12,860 votes, while Ashok Vaiti received 12,193 votes in ward 13A.
• Despite this loss, Shinde Sena won three out of four seats in Ward 13 and achieved a majority in the overall TMC elections.
• Ward 13A is reserved for Other Backward Class and is part of Ward No. 13, which has a total population of 57,526.
• The last TMC elections were held on February 21, 2017, where Shiv Sena emerged as the single largest party.
