Bengaluru Airport Soars: 13% Agri-Cargo Growth, Millions Served in 2025
- •Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) recorded a 13% year-on-year increase in agri-cargo, handling 5,904 metric tonnes of coriander from June–November 2025.
- •Bengaluru strengthened its position as a major distribution hub, with coriander reaching 22 domestic destinations, including new markets like Lucknow, Varanasi, and Jaipur.
- •Kolkata was the top recipient of coriander shipments, followed by Delhi, Bagdogra, Ranchi, and Patna, highlighting air cargo's role in bridging long distances for perishables.
- •The airport expanded its reach to five new cities (Agartala, Agra, Nagpur, Amritsar, Port Blair), indicating new domestic corridors and viability for agri-produce transport.
- •BLR Airport also served over 41.88 million passengers in FY 2024–25, becoming the first in South India to cross this milestone, and retained its perishable cargo hub status for the 4th year.
