Cold Wave Grips North India; Fog, Rain/Snow Alert for Multiple States
- •IMD warns of dense to very dense fog across North and East India, including Punjab, Haryana, UP, and parts of the Northeast, continuing into early January.
- •Cold wave and cold day conditions are forecast for Punjab, Haryana, MP, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, UP, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar.
- •Hisar, Haryana recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 2.1 degrees Celsius in the plains.
- •A fresh Western Disturbance will bring light to moderate rain or snowfall to J&K, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from Dec 30 to Jan 2.
- •Delhi NCR expects moderate to dense fog on Dec 30-31, with a chance of very light rain on Jan 1; temperatures between 7-9°C (min) and 21-25°C (max).
Why It Matters: North and East India face severe cold, dense fog, and impending rain/snow due to a Western Disturbance.
