Ex-TDB Member Vijayakumar Arrested in Sabarimala Gold Loss Case

• Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) member N Vijayakumar was arrested in connection with the Sabarimala gold loss case.
• Vijayakumar was a TDB member when approval was given in 2019 to hand over gold plates to prime accused Unnikrishnan Potty for electroplating.
• He is the 10th accused arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the probe concerning gold lost from Sreekovil doorframes and Dwarapalaka idols.
• The arrest follows questioning at the SIT office in Thiruvananthapuram; he will be produced before the Kollam Vigilance court.
• The Kerala High Court had previously criticized the SIT for not probing Vijayakumar and K P Shankardas's roles.
