Govt Launches National AI Skilling Initiative for Media & Creative Sector

• Ministry of I&B, in partnership with Google and YouTube, launched a national AI skilling initiative on March 23.
• Aims to train 15,000 individuals from media and creative sectors in animation, VFX, gaming, comics (AVGC), and media technology.
• Implemented by Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), offering 15,000 scholarships for advanced AI skills.
• Program has two phases: foundational AI learning (March 2026) and project-based specialization (July-Dec 2026) using tools like Gemini, Veo, Vertex AI.
• Part of a broader effort to boost the 'Orange Economy' and build an AI-skilled workforce, alongside MyWAVES and advanced EPG rollout.
