Delhi-NCR: GRAP Stage III invoked amid 'Severe' air quality

  • GRAP Stage III restrictions have been invoked in Delhi-NCR due to a sharp dip in air quality, with the AQI reaching 401 (Severe).
  • Key restrictions include schools up to Class 5 shifting to hybrid mode and a ban on non-essential construction and demolition work.
  • BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheelers are restricted in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddh Nagar.
  • The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) implemented these measures to prevent further deterioration of air quality.
  • These Stage III measures are in addition to existing GRAP Stages I and II restrictions already in force.

Why It Matters: New air pollution rules affect schools, construction, and vehicle use in Delhi-NCR.
