ICG Commissions First Indigenous Pollution Control Vessel 'Samudra Pratap'
- •ICG's first indigenous Pollution Control Vessel 'Samudra Pratap' to be commissioned on Monday, January 5, by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at Goa Shipyard Limited.
- •The 114.5-meter, 4,200-tonne vessel is the largest in the ICG fleet, with over 60% indigenous content, supporting Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
- •Designed for marine pollution control, oil/chemical spill response, and protecting India's maritime environment.
- •Equipped with advanced oil spill detection/recovery systems, modern bridge, firefighting capabilities, and dynamic positioning.
- •Also armed with a 30mm CRN-91 gun and two 12.7mm remote-controlled guns for patrol and security duties.
