India Mobilizes for West Asia: 1 Crore Citizens' Safety Top Priority, Evacuation Plans Underway
•India is preparing an evacuation plan for nearly one crore (10 million) citizens stranded in war-hit West Asia due to disrupted commercial flights.
•The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will establish dedicated control rooms and helplines from March 4, 2026, to assist Indians in affected Gulf countries.
•Indian embassies and consulates are actively in touch with nationals, issuing advisories and providing assistance.
•Control rooms will operate in key locations like UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Iran, and Jordan to track citizens and gather data for repatriation.
