Indian Airlines Slash 2,500+ Flights Weekly Amid West Asia Conflict, Rising Costs

Indian airlines will operate over 2,500 fewer flights weekly in the summer schedule starting March 29.
•
The reduction is due to rising operational costs and uncertainty from the West Asia crisis.
•
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved 23,049 weekly flights for nine airlines, a 10% cut from the previous summer.
•
The US-Israeli war on Iran, starting February 28, disrupted oil/gas supplies and international travel, increasing fuel surcharges.
•
IndiGo plans nearly 2,000 daily domestic flights in April, with international schedules adaptable to Middle East circumstances.
