India's Pralay Missile Outclasses Rivals, Faster Than BrahMos in Salvo Test

  • DRDO successfully conducted a salvo launch user-trial of the indigenous Pralay missile on December 31, 2025, from Chandipur, Odisha, with both missiles hitting targets precisely.
  • Pralay is a surface-to-surface, quasi-ballistic missile with a 150-500 km range, capable of mid-course manoeuvres, making it hard to intercept.
  • With a top speed over Mach 6 and up to 1,000 kg warhead capacity, Pralay is faster than BrahMos and outclasses China's DF-12 and Russia's Iskander in key metrics.
  • The trial validated its accuracy, reliability, and salvo launch capability, bringing it close to induction into the Indian Army, reinforcing 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
  • Developed by DRDO with private industry participation (Larsen & Toubro), it strengthens India's deterrence posture.

Why It Matters: India's Pralay missile, faster than BrahMos, successfully completed salvo trials, boosting strategic defence capabilities.
