J&K to Get Future-Ready IT Parks, IIT Jammu to Host Innovation Hub

• The J&K government will establish future-ready IT Parks across the UT, starting with an innovation and research park at the IIT Jammu campus.
• IIT Jammu's Board of Governors approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) on January 5, 2026, with J&K government giving in-principle approval for collaboration.
• Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed the project roadmap, aiming to strengthen the UT’s technology ecosystem, generate employment, and build institutional capacity.
• The project will be implemented in three phases: Phase-I (May-June 2026) upgrades 50,000 sq ft at IIT Jammu; Phase-II (2026-2028) adds 120,000 sq ft; Phase-III expands outside campus.
• The proposed Innovation Research Park at IIT Jammu will feature over 11,000 sq meters for labs, technology companies, startups, and industry-academia partnerships.
