Karnataka Girl's Fingers Severed In School, Parents Allege Staff Discarded Them

• A six-year-old Class 1 student, Chinmayi Devi, lost two fingers after they got stuck in a door at a government primary school in Tumakuru, Karnataka.
• The incident occurred on February 9 during mid-day meal time when her hand was caught between a door.
• Parents allege school staff initially downplayed the injury, and upon arrival, found their daughter unconscious and bleeding heavily.
• Police received information on February 11; it's alleged the severed fingers were discarded in a trash bin before the girl was taken to a hospital.
• An FIR has been registered against the block education officer, headmaster, a teacher, and another staff member for negligence and allegedly destroying evidence.
