Karnataka Launches Special Drive to Identify, Deport Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants

• The move follows the Karnataka High Court's criticism of FRRO and the State Government for failing to address the national security threat posed by illegal immigration.
• Police have been directed to trace undocumented immigrants across the state, with concentrations noted in Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, and Kodagu.
• Parameshwara questioned the central government and border security forces regarding the ease of entry for illegal immigrants into the country.
• Since the current government took power, 196 people have been deported, and processes are underway to deport 370 more identified individuals.
