Kejriwal's Transfer Plea Rejected: Delhi HC CJ Backs Justice Sharma in Excise Case
•Delhi High Court Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya declined Arvind Kejriwal's request to transfer the CBI's plea in the excise policy case from Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma.
•CJ Upadhyaya stated Justice Sharma is hearing the case according to the roster, and a transfer order on administrative grounds is unwarranted; recusal is for the judge concerned.
•Kejriwal and others sought transfer, citing "grave, bona fide, and reasonable apprehension" of impartiality due to Justice Sharma's past conduct in related cases.
•Kejriwal alleged Justice Sharma made "erroneous" prima facie observations without hearing all sides and has not granted relief to any accused in multiple related cases.
•He also noted that three of Justice Sharma's judgments in related matters were set aside by the Supreme Court, and one referred to a larger bench.
