MHA Tableau to Showcase New Justice Laws at Republic Day Parade

  • The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will feature a tableau at the Republic Day parade highlighting the nationwide implementation of the Naveen Nyaya Sanhitas.
  • The three new laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—became effective on July 1, 2024.
  • These laws are considered a major reform, replacing colonial-era principles with an Indian philosophy of justice, aiming for a modern, technology-driven, and citizen-centric system.
  • The tableau will demonstrate features like e-Sakshya for digital evidence, NAFIS for biometric identification, e-Summon, virtual hearings, and the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS).
  • It will also emphasize mobile forensic units, integrated control rooms, CCTV surveillance, and the growing role of women police personnel, ensuring accessibility and transparency of the new legal framework.

Why It Matters: MHA's Republic Day tableau will highlight India's new, technology-driven justice system and legal reforms.
