Mumbai Central Flyover Opens: Eases Traffic, Restores East-West Connectivity

• Mumbai gets 333-meter Tardeo–Nagpada–Mumbai Central flyover after a 2-year gap, virtually inaugurated by CM Devendra Fadnavis.
• The new flyover replaces a 130-year-old British-era bridge, restoring crucial east-west connectivity in south Mumbai.
• Expected to ease congestion on Jehangir Boman Behram Road, Dr Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar Marg, Pathe Bapurao Marg, and Mahalaxmi station bridge.
• Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) completed the flyover in a record 15 months and six days, ahead of schedule.
• Project faced challenges including shifting BEST utility lines, removing obstructing structures, and a high court case, but is now ready for public use.
