SC Cracks Down on Adjournments: 'Tareekh Pe Tareekh' Era Ends

•Supreme Court issues stern measures for adjournment requests, allowing them only in exceptional cases with structured safeguards.
•Adjournment requests require advance service to the other side/caveator by 11 AM on the previous working day, with proof.
•Opposing parties can raise objections via email by 12 PM on the previous working day.
•Requests must specify reasons and the number of adjournments already taken; only exceptional grounds like bereavement or medical issues are valid.
•Adjournment requests are limited to once in fresh cases, and two consecutive adjournments are not allowed without court listing.
