•Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026.
•Voting will be held in a single phase on April 23, 2026, with results declared on May 4, 2026.
•The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has 234 elected seats; DMK-led coalition won 159 seats in 2021.
•Congress and DMK finalized a seat-sharing deal for 28 Assembly constituencies and one Rajya Sabha seat.
