UP Liquor Prices Soar: New Excise Policy Hikes Rates From April 1

  • Uttar Pradesh's new excise policy, effective April 1, will increase liquor prices and introduce new regulations.
  • Local liquor prices will rise by approximately Rs 5 per bottle, while foreign liquor will become costlier by Rs 10 to Rs 30 per bottle.
  • A new 100 ml miniature pack of local liquor (Baccha) with 42.8 degree strength will be available for Rs 50.
  • The policy includes changes in shop quotas, an e-lottery system for retail shop allocation, and a 7.5% increase in license fees for foreign liquor and beer.
  • Special licenses for low-alcohol beverages will be granted in key cities, and UP-made liquor can now be exported internationally.
