Yumnam Khemchand Singh: From Taekwondo Black Belt to Manipur CM

• BJP leader Yumnam Khemchand Singh was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Manipur, ending nearly a year of President’s rule.
• Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla administered the oath of office and secrecy at Lok Bhavan in Imphal.
• President’s rule was imposed after N Biren Singh resigned due to criticisms over his government's handling of ethnic violence between Meiteis and Kukis.
• Singh, a two-time MLA from Singjamei constituency and a Meitei, previously served as Speaker and held key ministerial portfolios.
• He is also a martial arts enthusiast, holding a 5th Dan black belt in traditional Taekwondo, awarded in Seoul.
