•Iran's UNESCO-listed Golestan Palace reports fresh damage from stray strikes amid the escalating 2026 Iran-Israel conflict.
•The 19th-century palace, a symbol of Persian power, now highlights the fragility of cultural heritage in modern warfare.
•In 1951, it hosted the lavish royal wedding of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary.
•Soraya's iconic Christian Dior wedding gown featured 37 yards of silver lamé, 6,000 diamonds, 20,000 feathers, and weighed 66 pounds.
•The palace also once housed the fabled Peacock Throne, looted from India and later lost to Russia.
