• He presented a fake UPSC ID card at the public relations office, which raised suspicion.
• Upon questioning, Nikhil faltered, leading the temple committee to hand him over to the police.
• It was revealed he had previously defrauded others by posing as an an IAS officer.
• Former MLA Rajesh Tope had even felicitated him as an IAS officer, adding to the shock.
