Jalna's 102-Year Mahaprasad Tradition: 2 Tractors of Umbar Bhaji, 50 Quintals of Chapatis
•
Shri Kshetra Rameshwar in Maujpuri, Jalna, observes a unique 102-year-old tradition of Mahaprasad on Shivayogi Swami's death anniversary.
•
The Mahaprasad consists of Umbardhodyachi Bhaji, mild lentil soup, and chapatis, prepared in massive quantities.
•
Two tractors of Umbardhodyachi Bhaji and 50 quintals of wheat chapatis are made, with all ingredients and labor contributed voluntarily by villagers.
•
Chapatis are rolled out to reach the Siddheshwar Temple bell, symbolizing an abundance that ensures no devotee goes without Mahaprasad.
•
This tradition, believed to be Maharashtra's first such community feast, strictly follows Shivayogi Swami's instructions for the Mahaprasad menu.
