Mumbaikar Engineer Killed in Iran Drone Attack on US Ship; Kandivali Mourns
•Devanandan Prasad Singh, a Mumbaikar engineer from Kandivali, died in an Iranian drone attack on an American-owned crude oil tanker 'Safsea Vishnu'.
•Singh, an 'Additional Chief Engineer', suffered severe burns in the explosion near Iraq and succumbed to his injuries; 15 other Indian sailors were rescued.
•Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the underwater drone attack, targeting the US-owned ship.
•Devanandan, 50, had moved to Kandivali from Bihar in 2019 and was the sole breadwinner for his wife and two children.
•This marks the second Kandivali resident's death in recent attacks, following Dixit Solanki's demise in an Oman attack.
