IndiGo Shares Plunge 4th Day Amid US-Iran War Airspace Curbs
•
IndiGo shares fell 5% on Wednesday, February 4, marking the fourth consecutive day of decline, with a total 13% loss.
•
The decline is due to persistent airspace restrictions impacting the aviation sector, stemming from the US-Iran war.
•
IndiGo cancelled over 500 flights to the Middle East and international destinations between February 28, 2026, and March 3, 2026.
•
HSBC estimates 20% of IndiGo's capacity, 32% of SpiceJet, and over 40% of Air India's capacity could be affected.
•
Brokerage firm HSBC also warned that a spike in oil prices could further impact airline profitability.
