Gold, Silver Prices Crash: Billions Lost in 'Mega-Earthquake' on MCX

• Gold and silver prices experienced a significant decline on Tuesday around 8:30 PM on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
• Silver futures for March 5 plummeted by 5.58% (13,378 rupees/kg) to 2,26,513 rupees, while gold futures for April 2 dropped by 2.45% (3,796 rupees/10g) to 1,50,964 rupees.
• Silver is now over 1.93 lakh rupees cheaper from its record high of 4.20 lakh rupees/kg on January 29.
• Gold is over 43,000 rupees cheaper from its record high of 1.93 lakh rupees/10 grams.
• Experts attribute the fall to profit booking and a strengthening dollar; Gold and Silver ETFs also saw declines.
