Central Railway to Boost Mumbai-Pune Travel: Level Crossings Replaced by Bridges

• Central Railway to permanently close ten railway level crossings between Kalyan and Lonavala.
• Railway overbridges and tunnels will replace crossings to increase train speed and save travel time.
• Project cost estimated at 183 crore rupees, with completion targeted within two years.
• Mumbai-Pune Mail and Express trains, along with Karjat-Khopoli locals, will benefit from smoother, faster service.
• Closure of level crossings is also expected to reduce accidents.
