Mumbai Gears Up for Monsoon: BMC Boosts Water Pumps to Combat Flooding

• Tenders for these pumps have been invited on a two-year contract basis, with an estimated cost of up to 142 crores.
• 146 pumps are allocated for the city area, 223 for western suburbs, and 178 for eastern suburbs.
• Extensive drain cleaning is also underway across Mumbai, with a target to complete all cleaning before the monsoon.
