• Western Railway introduces colored stripes and footprints on platforms at Nalasopara station to manage crowds.
• Passengers are instructed to queue on markings, allowing alighting passengers to exit first before boarding.
• The initiative, involving 22 RPF and MSF personnel, was implemented during peak hours (6 AM to 11 AM) at Nalasopara.
• This crowd management method aims to reduce chaos and accidents during boarding and alighting.
• If successful during a two-month trial, the system will be expanded to other crowded stations in Mumbai.
