"Green Gold" Moong: High Profits in 60 Days with Less Water After Wheat Harvest!
•
Moong, known as "green gold," offers high profits to farmers during the Zaid season due to its quick maturity (60-70 days) and low water requirement.
•
Sowing is ideal from March 15 to April, immediately after wheat harvest; requires deep plowing and good quality, treated seeds (25-30 kg/hectare).
•
The crop needs minimal nitrogen (15 kg/hectare) due to Rhizobium bacteria and 40-50 kg/hectare of phosphorus, with only 4-5 irrigations.
•
Yields can reach 15-20 quintals per hectare, making it a profitable crop that matures in just 60-70 days.
•
Moong can also be used as green manure; incorporating it at the flowering stage enriches soil with nitrogen and other nutrients for future crops.
