Priyaranjan Singh, a farmer from Palamu, Jharkhand, has pioneered herbal chamomile tea cultivation on one acre, a first for the state.
•
The organic farming method involves no chemical fertilizers or pesticides, with plants yielding 200 kg of flowers per acre.
•
Seeds were sourced from Himachal Pradesh, and the cultivation cost approximately 50,000 rupees.
•
Expected profit is around 1.5 lakh rupees, derived from herbal tea and 7 liters of oil (worth 20,000 rupees/liter).
•
Singh's success with chamomile tea, following previous experiments with Tulsi, Peppermint, and Palmarosa, inspires other farmers.
